imageInnovation meets tradition! This dish is really as simple as that. Palya/poriyal/dry fry are just many ways of calling vegetable side dishes. Most commonly made with a few basic ingredients like mustard-chana dal seasoning, dry red chllies, dry coconut etc. The rest of the ingredients is totally up to your liking. This is usually made with green beans, green leafy vegetables, eggplant to name a few. This however is unique as broccoli  is used here as the main vegetable and trust me you will love it. If you already like broccoli you’ll  love it even more in this combo and even if you dislike it this dish will make you relish it! Go on read the recipe and give it a shot!

Instructions
  1. Broccoli Palya
  2. Wash, chop and steam broccoli florets with a little water in the microwave for 4-5 minutes with a little salt. Drain water after it cooks
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add red chilies and hing. Add chana dal and lightly fry it.
  4. Add onions and saute it till translucent.
  5. Add cashews, peanuts and curry leaves
  6. Add the steamed broccoli and salt if needed and mix everything.
  7. Turn of the heat and garnish with grated dry coconut.
  8. Enjoy with roti or chapati!
