Doddapatre (cuban oregano, Spanish thyme, Orégano Brujo (Puerto Rico), Indian Borage, ) is very useful medicinal plant .These leaves are used for treating cough, cold, sore throat, and nasal congestion. I grow this plant at home thanks to my brother-in-law Raveesh. He loves to garden and has amazing green thumbs and so despite my very brown thumbs i still have this growing at home due to his regular check ups on my plants :)

This is a yoghurt based side dish made using these herbal leaves called doddapatre. These leaves not only have all these amazing medicinal value but when used in this authentic Karnataka dish it tastes unbelievable! It is an excellent digestive too making this ideal for those days when you don’t feel like having a big meal. It is super simple to make and you can still wow the members at the dining table. Serve it as a side with some hot white rice and a dash of ghee. I bet you will be licking your fingers/spoon for a while after the last morsel is emptied from your plate :)
